Midheaven
The Midheaven (MC) is the highest point in a birth chart. Astrologers use it for vocation and public direction, alongside the tenth house — not as a job title generator.
What the Midheaven is
The Midheaven, usually marked MC, is the highest point of the local meridian in a natal chart. It is an angle, calculated from birth time and place. Astrologers connect it with public direction, reputation, and the kind of responsibility that becomes visible over time — which is why it shows up in career questions.
It is not a job-assignment machine. 'What job should I do?' is a life question. The Midheaven is better at naming a style of contribution: how you want to be useful in public, and what kind of authority feels clean.
MC, tenth house, and the rest of the chart
In some house systems the Midheaven is the tenth-house cusp; in others it can sit elsewhere. Planets near the MC, the tenth-house ruler, the sixth house, and Saturn all add vocational context. A supportive aspect does not guarantee a title. A tense one does not forbid a vocation.
Read the IC, the opposite angle, with it. Public direction that has no private root usually frays.
You need a birth time
The Midheaven moves with the sky. A recorded time is the difference between a useful angle and a guess. Calculate a full natal chart rather than reading a Sun-sign career horoscope.
