North Node
The North Node is a calculated lunar point often read as a direction of growth. It is symbolism, not a destiny script, and it works best beside the South Node and the rest of the chart.
A point, not a planet
The lunar nodes are where the Moon's orbit meets the ecliptic. The North Node and South Node sit opposite each other. Modern astrology often reads the North Node as a direction of development and the South Node as a familiar competence. That is a reflective framework, not a command to reject your past.
People reach for the nodes when they want a plot. Charts are not plots. They are maps of emphasis. The nodes are one axis on that map.
How to read them without fate language
Look at the sign and house of the North Node, then the South Node opposite. Ask what skill is already easy, and what kind of stretch would make a life larger without requiring a personality transplant. Aspects to the nodes add tone; they still do not override consent or circumstance.
If a reading tells you that you must become your North Node and abandon your South Node, it is selling destiny. Keep the competence. Practise the stretch.
